C/o Kancharapalem (2018)
Movie: C/o Kancharapalem (2018)
Genre:Drama
Runtime:2h 32m
This is a different love story of four different age-groups set in, Kancherapalem a suburb in Visakhapatnam.
· Raju (Subba Rao), a clerk leading a bachelor life will get proposal from radha, a widower who is working in a government office.
· Gadam (Mohan bhagath) who works in a wine shop falls for a Muslim girl, who takes wine every day from his shop. His is so pure that even after knowing that she is a prostitute, he still continues to love her. His character is filled with innocence. Special mention should be done to the woman who played the Muslim, she (Praveena Paruchuri) is the producer of this movie, believe me its is tough role to play.
· Joesph (Karthik Ratnam) who is a street rowdy works for a gym owner and does small settlements. He meets bhargavi (Praneetha) a classical dancer and later they fall in love.
· Sundaram a school boy likes her classmate sravanthi.
Subba Rao as a 49-year-old man did a splendid job, his is not a trained actor but his dialogue delivery was perfect, he will entertain through out the movie. Radha, the widower was natural and her 20-year-old daughter role was etched nicely. Sundarams father (Kishore) role as a sculpture was heart-warming. Rest all the characters are apt and they acted really well.
Direction by Maha Venkatesh was so natural that you feel you’re at that scene. He didn’t exaggerate any of the scenes even there is every chance to do so. Story was thoughful, its creative and there is sincerity in it. The way he narrated the stories was great. Screenplay was top class. It is very difficult to find faults. Special mention should be given to the dialogues, they were blended with drama, emotion, romance and comedy. Following scenes are appreciable
· The dialogue by Radha’s daughter talking about the maturity of love with her uncle.
· Sundaram (young boy) conversation with lord Ganesh.
· Bhargavi’s father mockery about other religion.
· Reaction of gadam character when he comes to know that he is love with a prostitute.
· Explanation of human relationships by Raju.
They used sync sound (recording dialogues during the shoot itself) and sound design was perfect. Cinematography was good. Background score and music was not loud and its apt to the scenes. Editing was good.
This move will have an art film composition but it is filled with underwhelming commercial elements. You will get connected with the characters slowly but once you come out the theatre you won’t forget the characters. C/o Kancharapalem is a must watch, such movies in telugu industry are rare and should be encouraged.
(Kindly keep your expectations low and after watching last 10 minutes of the movies try to recollect all the stories you will understand artistic explanation given by the director about love, religion, caste and humanity…….there is lot of inner meaning in it)
